Mountain Bike to Machu Picchu 4D/3N

ITINERARY

Day 01

Leave from CuscoWe leave from Cusco at 7:00 hours, on the way we go through Ollantaytambo (the visit to Ollantaytambo is optional) and we continue to the Abra of Malaga at 4300 masl where we will arrive at 10:30 hrs.Ovethere the transport will leave us, going on the route on bicycle in the company of a specialized guide on Mountain Bike. During the descent we will pass through some towns of the jungles eyebrow, among them are Carrizales, Cocha, Huyro and one arrives at the village of Santa María La Antigua, located in the Valley of La Convencion at 1700 masl an adorned spot by the Urubamba River. At about 13:00 hrs it will be served a lunch picnic like- Around 17:00 hrs we will arrive at the place where we will camp.

Day 02

Santa MariaAt 8:00 hrs after breakfast we will give beginning to the hike towards the town of Santa Teresa, located 7 hours on foot from Santa María at 1850 masl. On the route we can observe coffee plantations, low Andean plants and sometimes we could appreciate the Salkantay Glacier. On the way we will have a picnic and we will make a brief stop. Finally, we will arrive in Santa Teresa where we will camp.

Day 03

7:00 hrs the transport will pick us up from Santa Teresa to go to Lucmabamba where it will leave us and we will begin our hike by the mount Lactapata till getting to the window balcony of the same name, where could be seen the extreme Northeast of Machupicchu, as well as the Valley of Urubamba. Later on we will descend to the hidroelectric plant where we will have our picnic. At 14:15 hrs we will board the local train which will take us to Aguas Calientes where we will stay overnight at a town´s hotel.

Day 04: Machupicchu

Early in the morning we will begin our tour to the citadel of Machupicchu. Finally, in the afternoon aboard the backpacker train that will take us to Poroy, where the transport will wait for us to take us to the City of Cusco.
