This tour starts at approximately 8:30 am, we stop by your hotel, to have a guided tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, as the first place of visit we will have the Archaeological Park of Chinchero picturesque district for its customs and handicrafts, where the remains of the Hacienda Real are located. of Tupac Inca Yupanqui. You will admire its well-preserved Inca wall in the main square and visit the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes on the portico, built on the basis of an Inca building. The weather is ideal to visit Moray Archaeological Center, which was a center for agricultural experimentation from the Inca period, in which we see concentric platforms, where a great potential for agricultural products and medicinal plants was developed. that many of them were accustomed to the region of the jungle and the coast.
We arrive at the small district of Maras and will visit the Maras salt mines, where we will observe the salt pools, whose exploitation is so old that they exploit it in an artisanal way as it was during the Tahuantinsuyo period. The inhabitants channel the salt water that emanates from the subsoil towards Pozas in which, due to the effects of the sun, the water evaporates, leaving the salt on the surface, which is then treated to be sold in the local market. The view of the group of approximately three thousand pools is spectacular. The residents show visitors their ancestral techniques and allow them to intervene in the collection, as well as in the Andean parties and rituals. Continuing with the tour we will have a lunch in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. In the afternoon we will visit the Ollantaytambo Archaeological Park, one of the most important places in the entire valley. We will have the opportunity to walk through the streets of the town and thus have a clear idea of how this administrative, military, agricultural, religious and cultural center was during the Inca Empire. End of service in Ollantaytambo at about 16:30 pm.
After this tour you will have a free time and then head to Ollantaytambo train station which is 10 minutes from the village.
