What is the itinerary of the Inka Jungle to Machu Picchu?
Day 01: Cusco – Santa Maria
We leave the Cusco at 7:00 a.m. On the way we pass through Ollantaytambo (the visit to Ollantaytambo is optional) and continue to the Abra de Málaga (4350 masl.) where we will arrive at 10:30 am. There he will leave us mobility, continuing the bike tour in the company of a guide specialized in Mountain Bike. During the descent we will pass through some towns of Ceja de Selva, among which are Carrizales, Cocla, Huyro and we arrive at the town of Santa María La Antigua located in the Valley of the Convention at 1700 m.a.s.l., a place adorned by the Urubamba river. at 1:00 p.m. A picnic lunch will approximately be served.
Around 5:00 p.m. We will arrive to spend the night in a family lodging.
Day 02: Santa Maria – Santa Teresa
at 8:00 a.m. After breakfast we will continue with our Inka Jungle to Machu Picchubound for the town of Santa Teresa, located 5 hours walk from Santa María, at a height of 1850 m.a.s.l. On the route we can observe coffee plantations, under Andean plants and at times we can appreciate the snowy Salkantay.
On the way we will have a picnic for which we will make a short stop.
Finally we will arrive in Santa Teresa, where we will spend the night in family lodging.
Day 03: Santa Teresa – Luchambamba
at 7:00 a.m. Mobility will pick us up from Santa Teresa to go to Luchambamba, where we will leave and we will start our walk through the Llactapata hill until we reach the viewpoint of the same name, from where you can see the northeast end of Machu picchu, as well as the Urubamba Valley. Later we will descend to the hydroelectric plant to continue with the walk to the town of Aguas Calientes
Day 04: Machu Picchu
Early in the morning we will start our tour to the Citadel of Machu Picchu and go up to the famous Huaynapicchu. Finally in the afternoon we will board the Expedition train that will take us to Ollantaytambo, where mobility will wait for us to take us to the city of Cusco.
