Day 1 (Lima and Cusco)

DURATION: 12:30 p.m. to 17:30 p.m.

itinerary: The first day upon arrival in Cusco, we moved you from the airport to the hotel at the indicated time and then between 1:30 p.m. Make a combined city tour through the historic center of Cusco. We will start by visiting the Cathedral of Cusco, which is undoubtedly one of the most notable colonial monuments in all of America and where we can observe colonial architecture, Cusco paintings, altars, images of different saints and saints, etc. Next we will go to the most important temple of our Inca culture, the Coricancha (Temple of the Sun) which was one of the most revered temples in the city of Cusco and Peru. Formerly known as “The Golden Enclosure”, it was a sacred place where worship was given to the maximum Inca god: the Inti (Sun), so you could only enter fasting and barefoot as indicated by the older priest Willaq Umu. We will also visit the “Inca Museum”, one of the best museums in Cusco where we can observe objects of the Inca and Pre-Inca culture.

Day 2 (The Sacred Valley of the Incas)

DURATION: 8:20 a.m. to 18:45 p.m.

itinerary: After savoring the typical breakfast at the hotel we will pick you up at approximately 8:30 a.m. To start a guided tour of the famous “Sacred Valley of the Incas“That encloses history and landscape beauty. The first place of visit will be the “Chinchero Archaeological Park”, a picturesque district due to its customs and handicrafts where the remains of the Tupac Inca Inca Yupanqui royal hacienda are located. We will visit the well preserved wall Inca in the main square, and we will get to know the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes in the portico built on the basis of an Inca building.

Then we will go to the “Archaeological Center of Moray” which was a center of agrarian experimentation in the Inca period, in which we will see the well-known concentric platforms where great potential of agricultural products and medicinal plants was developed. many of them from the region of the jungle and the Peruvian coast. Then we arrive at the small district of Maras and the “Poblado de las Salineras”, where we will observe the salt mines whose artisanal exploitation is so old that it has been carried out in the same way since the Tahuantinsuyo period. The inhabitants channel the salt water that emanates from the subsoil towards Pozas in which, due to the effects of the sun, the water evaporates, leaving the salt on the surface, which is then treated to be sold in the local market. The view of the group of approximately three thousand pools is spectacular. The residents will show us their ancestral techniques and if we are lucky we can intervene in the collection, as well as in the Andean parties and rituals.

Continuing with the tour through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, and after the respective lunch, we will continue to the “Ollantaytambo Archaeological Park”, one of the most important places in the entire valley. There we will have the opportunity to walk through the streets of the town and thus have a clear idea of how this administrative, military, agricultural, religious and cultural center was during the Inca Empire. Our return to the city of Cusco will be between 18:00 p.m. and 18:45 p.m.
