Beginning our trek from this point we will go across the bridge and we will walk along the shore of the left margin of the Urubamba River that flows Northeast of the Sacred Valley. After going through some plain terraces, we will arrive at Miskay at 2,800 m.a.s.l, so to later go up and finally see the Inka City of Patallacta at 2,750 masl then we will go on with our trek along the valley created by the Kusichaca River, gradually going up till we reach our first camp of Wayllabamba at 3,000 masl where we will see the most spectacular views of the edge of the Vilcanota River, on the opposite side of the Urubamba River we can see the impressive snowy glacier of Veronica at 5,832 masl place where one cannot figure out the diversity of flora and fauna which can be found in the zone.

Day 02: Huayllabamba - Warmiwañusca -   Pacaymayu

This day we will get up at about 6:00 a.m., after enjoying breakfast we are going to begin our most difficult trek of the day; the trek consists on a hasty and narrow climbing up of 9 kilometers. Throughout this climbing up the landscape will change from mountainous land to puna, a dry and high area with little vegetation. At the moment we arrive at the first opening through the mountain known as the Abra of Warmihuañusca, pass of the dead woman, we could see domestic llamas and alpacas that grass on ichu, one of the few plants that grow at that altitude. We also will cross over a forestry area where they live diverse kinds of animals as sparrows and the Andean bear or Spectacled bear. We advise that on this day you should take some candy, chocolate bars and coca leaves so you could keep a high level of sugar to counteract the high altitude. Right after going through the pass we will go down towards the Pacaymayu valley at 3600 m.a.s.l. where we will camp after 6 hours of hiking.

Day 03: Pacaymayu - Chaqicocha -   Wiñayhuayna

This is the most interesting and impressive day of our trek, due to the number of archaeological sites that we will visit and we will receive more information from our guide. From Pakamayu we will climb up the second pass, the Abra of Runkurakay at 3,970 masl. At mid-morning we will visit the archaeological complex of the same name, this site is situated at 3,800 masl., it consists of a small oval structure that was created for having fulfilled the purpose of being a watchtower. After getting through the pass we will get down towards Yanacocha (black lagoon), and we will get into the cloud-forest finally to arrive at Sayacmarca, at 3624 masl. This beautiful complex, made out of a semicircular construction with different levels of narrow streets, of liturgic sources, of playgrounds and irrigation channels. Going on through an easy slope we will get to the third pass, the Abra of Phuyupatamarca at 3700 masl. Throughout our trek we could appreciate the magnitude of the ancient art of The Inkas and see the rocks that fill in the ravines in a perfect order. We will continue with our trek so we could go through an Inka tunnel and to reach the already mentioned pass. This is one of the archaeological complexes best kept up that are found on the highest point of the mountain: Phuyupatamarca means “The cloud over the city from where we could observe a sophisticated complex and composed of water fountains with the solid foundations and with impressive views of the Urubamba River along which we will continue climbing up towards Wiñayhuayna at 2700 masl. At this place we will find a countryside house with a restaurant, a bar, and rooms with bath and hot showers. At 5 minutes from the camp site it is the archaeological complex of Wiñaywayna composed of an agrarian center with many religious and urban terraces.
